Setup your Visitu iPad App

After you have completed the setup process in the web dashboard, the next step is to configure the iPad with the Printer IP Address, Sign in Camera Direction, Sign out Camera Direction and Sign in Camera Delay.

If you are going to print badges you should add your Brother Label Printer to your network first. Follow these instructions to help with this.

Read below to help with these configurations.

Set your Printer IP Address

To configure your Visitu iPad to print to your Brother wireless label printer, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Visitu iPad app on your iPad.
  2. Login to the Visitu iPad app with your credentials.
  3. Tap the settings gear icon at the top of the home screen.
  4. Enter your settings PIN if enabled.
  5. Enter your Brother label printer IP address in the IP ADDRESS field.
  6. Tap Save.
  7. Tap Back to return to the iPad home screen.

You can test your printer configuration by tapping the TEST PRINT button. If everything is working correctly a badge should print from your Brother label printer.

NOTE: Please make sure your iPad and Brother label printer are joined to the same SSID wireless network.

Set your Sign in Camera Direction

To configure your sign in camera direction follow these steps:

  2. Login to the Visitu iPad app with your credentials.

  6. Tap Save.
  7. Tap Back to return to the iPad home screen.

Set your Sign out Camera Direction

If you are utilizing Visitu in the recommended kiosk mode, make sure to set your Sign out camera direction to FRONT. This will allow your visitors to scan the QR Code that prints on the Visitu badge to check themselves out. You can also manually sign visitors out from the dashboard, like when they turn in their visitor badge.

To configure your sign out camera direction follow these steps:

  1. Open the Visitu iPad app on your iPad.

Setup your Sign in Camera Delay

To allow visitors enough time to tap the camera icon and look back at the front facing iPad camera we have allowed you the ability to set the amount of time for a countdown. The default we recommend is 3 seconds. If you want less or more time for your guests just adjust the setting in the Visitu Settings from the iPad app.

Adjust the camera countdown delay time in seconds follow these steps:

  1. Open the Visitu iPad app on your iPad.
  2. Login to the Visitu iPad app with your credentials.

  5. Set your camera delay in seconds in the field.
  6. Tap Save.
  7. Tap Back to return to the iPad home screen.

Dashboard Sync

If you make changes to the sign in process from the Visitu Web Dashboard, you will need to Sync the iPad to populate those changes. Once you sync, any changes made in the Visitu Web Dashboard will automatically populate to sign in process on the iPad for your visitors.

To Sync the Dashboard follow these steps:
